Welcome to Teardrop Lake Resort

Teardrop Lake Resort is a fictional resort on 16,000 privately owned acres of mostly pristine wilderness located in Maine.

The resort had become a dream of James Harrington more than 25 years ago to provide a safe haven where same sex men could learn how to accept their sexual orientation. After ten years of planning and construction the dream became a reality.  James also decided to provide a safe place to learn about and practice a discipline partnership and offers this security to men who are interested in living that particular life style.  For this reason, guests are screened before invited to join the membership of this discreet resort.

For those who choose Teardrop Lake Resort offers a safe place to explore any and all aspects of same sex partnerships.  Guests can enroll in several 1 to 2 days classes or seminars including exploring Discipline Partnerships.  The 100 year old barn has been refurbished and now houses several small meeting/classrooms.  Also contained in the barn are several specialty shops.

Located within the boundaries of the resort is Teardrop Lake.  At 600 acres, the lake offers many year round activities including swimming, fishing, boating, ice skating.  No power boats are allowed on the lake.  The resort supplies canoes, kayaks, and 2 to 4 man sailboats at no charge to their guests. 

Teardrop Lake is within walking distance from the main lodge.   The lodge is the central meeting place where guests can enjoy our full service restaurant and bar.  For those guest who prefer there are four guests rooms available on the second floor of the lodge with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding woods. 

For those a little more adventurous, we have several rustic bungalows dotted around the lodge and lake.  Each unit is fully contained:   Living room with wood burning fireplace, one or two bedrooms with king size beds, kitchen, 3-piece bathroom and laundry room.   These units have electricity as well as small hot tub/spas.

Also located farther away from the lodge are a few very rustic “Hunter’s Cabins”.  These cabins will take our guests back to the last century complete with potbelly stoves and out houses.  There are also several camping spots located throughout the property. 

Teardrop Lake Resort offers horses for trail riding or guided backpacking into the more rugged area of the resort.   The resort has a fenced off dog park for our animal guests to enjoy.  When not enjoying the dog park all dogs are required to be on leash.

Many more services are available including archery and volleyball.

We have a medical infirmary run by a fully accredited physician on site to handle any medical issues. 

As well as an accredited veterinarian to handle your pet’s needs.

Security is provided both at the Lodge site and the borders of the property.  TLR also has two full time wilderness rangers on staff.
